Akobo Minerals is a Scandinavia-based gold exploration and boutique mining company, currently holding an exploration license covering 182 km2 and with an ongoing mine development in the Gambela region.

The company has established itself as the leading gold exploration company in Ethiopia through more than 12 years of on-the-ground activity. Akobo Minerals holds a 16 km2 mining license and is working to start up mining of its very promising Segele target. It has an Inferred and Indicated Mineral Resource yielding a world-class gold grade.

Job summary:

Under the general supervision of the process plant manager, is responsible for scheduling, co-coordinating and supervising the work of all site operatives, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Your duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Planning and execution of maintenance activities of equipment within processing plant.
• Stock control of spares and ensure availability.
• Ensure plant equipment is available for utilization of operations.
• Oversee engineering team functions (Fitters, Boilermakers, Electricians and instrument technicians)
• Adhere to all company working policies, procedures, SOPs during execution of duties and responsibilities
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications Required:

Education:

• Minimum of BSc degree in mechanical /industrial engineering or in any relevant filed.
• Relevant engineering trade certificate 

Work Experience:

• 5 Years in a mineral processing plant, gold plant experience advantage.
• 3 Years Supervisory experience.

Skills and competencies required:

• English reading and verbal communication - Excellent.
• Be able to resolve problems and manage engineering functions within processing plant.
• Attention to detail, planning, compile reports, time management.
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other)
• Monitoring progress and quality control.

• Suppliers, Clients, Community and other as may be needed
